Car registration, the vet, Christmas, school shoes. Most of the bills that break a budget are not surprises, they just don't come every month. This kit puts all of them on paper in one sitting, then splits each one into a small amount you set aside every payday, in cash envelopes or in a savings account.

Start with the "What am I forgetting?" checklist (eight groups, from car and home to pets and renewals), then the year of true expenses calendar: each month has a column for the bills due and a column for what you'll set aside that month. The payday split page turns each bill into a per-paycheck amount, with a worked example you can follow. Then pick your first 4 envelopes on the start-here page. Opening 10 envelopes on day one is a lot to keep up with, so the kit starts small on purpose and adds envelopes one at a time.

The cash budget by paycheck page comes in weekly, biweekly and monthly versions, so the amounts match how you are paid. There are 7 fold-and-glue cash envelopes that hold a US bill flat (6 labeled plus a blank) with a log on the back, 44 envelope labels, placeholder cards for things you paid by card, envelope insert trackers with date, in, out and balance columns, 30 labeled sinking fund trackers from car repairs to Christmas to the vet, blank trackers for your own funds, and a withdrawal plan page for payday cash and for when a bill comes due.

You get four PDFs: US Letter and A4 (32 pages each), a low-ink version, and a 43-page A6 inserts file for cash binders, with a clickable contents page for tablets. All amounts on the pages are examples; you fill in your own. Personal organizing tool, not financial advice.
